A 1979 graduate of the University of Oklahoma Medical School, Dr.Adelman’s interest in addiction medicine dates back to his first assignment as an emergency room physician in Montana, where he quickly became the first medical director of the hospital’s addiction treatment program. Dr.Adelman, board certified in emergency medicine, moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1987 to become medical director at St.Vincent Charity Hospital Rosary Hall’s Alcohol and Drug Addiction Program, a post he still holds. Dr.Adelman, currently on the faculty of Case Western Reserve University Family Medicine Residency Program, has written extensively on addiction medicine.
